Innisfree was started in 1985 and offers classes from from Pre-Nursery till the 10th grade. The medium of instruction is English. However, Hindi and Kannada are the other languages that are taught and also encouraged for debates and elocutions. Children with learning difficulties work with a special educator, gifted children are put on fast track so that their mental abilities are catered to. The teachers attend seminars, workshops and training programmes to update their professional skills including IT skills. The school has a pre-school section with an activity room with Montessori equipment, a large aviary and animals. There is a rain water harvesting system in place. The children are participants in the programmes conducted by the Kids for Tigers, the Energy and Resources Institute (TERI) and Clean Bangalore. There is also a recycling machine. Shloka classes are an integral part of the curriculum. To sensitize children about social diversities, the school has adopted a slum school closeby.
