What is the age for Montessori in NPS? Any idea, please let me know.
I have not recieved the call yet, so checked today directly at NPS HSR front office, I am told all the parents of the shortlisted applications are contacted as of yesterday....

Yes, NPS HSR Layout has started calling up parents for LKG and Montessori.
They are asking the LKG parents to bring a DD of around 98K
I would like to know the admission details for I Standard? Can any one help me if they started issuing admission forms? What will be the admission fee and tution fee?
When I called to school, it is said that addimistion notification will be published on school website soon and tentively applications are issued from 1st week of Oct2011 for 12-13yr.

Yesterday i was told by the receptionist that, for class - 1 they issue admission forms in the moth of Nov/December, it is too early. Some what i dont believe in this.....Any body has right details.

If you are wondering why your ward got an admission even when he did really well in exams, you are not the one there are various criteria which decided your wards admission apart from How he/she flared in exams
1. not all the copies are checked, specially kid's name falling last in alphabetical order.
if you will observe their list, you will see most of kids having name starting with initial alphabetical letter.
2. Girl child is being given preference over boy
3. its not 100% the entrance marks which helps in getting admission, parents salary/designation still plays a role.
we, parents shud teach these kind of school a lessons by filling the salary they require, Infact I know lots of ppl who has filled wrong salary/address and got the admission but if everybody will fill wrong info, it will atleast bring some fairness.
As a parent whose son passed the entrance exam and got admission and name his starting letter is falling last in the alphabetical order wants to contradict each point mentioned.
1) Sorry to say this is an assumption, there is no mechanism available for a parent to provide a proof regarding this, no school in the world believe in name of the child. Not able to understand what the school is going to benefit from child's name starting letter !
2) No idea how the school is going to benefit from this. Most of the schools try to maintain a ratio of 50-50%...
3) Yes of course, any school has these type of criteria, surely they will see parents are eligible to pay the fees year after year, especially when the fees always goes upwards! This is same for all schools.
Surely school will have a mechanism to tackle these type of "wise" suggestions by "wise" individuals. Integrity of the individual matters and imagine a case that after 2 to 3 months your kid is thrown out of the school due to these type of "weird" suggestions.
Also there are many schools available in and around HSR layout and each one has its own positives and negatives. As a parent we need to understand there is no 100% postive school!
I enquired today and I was told that NPS HSR admission process is over. Parents of selected has been called.
My son got the admission on 17th and fees was paid by DD. Surely fees is on a higher side but compared to "Horizon" schools it was less and transparent, but there was NO HALF HOUR (or more) TORTURE for the child. The admission process was a smooth affair. By admitting kids like this and producing outstanding CBSE results is worth mentioning when other schools are taking "cream" kids after half an hour torture and not able to ape the same results!
"Horizon"- "Horizon" schools was asking 1 and 1.5 L donation!!! apart from fees which is already between 1.25 and 1.5 L. Wondering how these type of schools are one of the top school in Bangalore by doing all these type of day light looting!
Freedom - While issuing application they never mentioned the availability of seats for LKG (collected in first 10) and later mentioned seats available for LKG as 10 (after selling applications)...it is very clear that so many high profile people on board will not help a school to change the money minded attitude...
For most of the schools admission is a Business ( "Business is an art of extracting money from another man's pocket without resorting him to violence")!

It looks like admission has been started for NPS HSR. On of my friend's friend got a call today at 8:30 am. She falls under sibling category.
Yes we too got a call today for LKG. we are in sibling criteria.
Yes today we also got the call from NPS HSR today at 9.00 Am.

Kumarappan: The process has started already. Download the form and submit it to the school ASAP. Call up the school to see if they are stil accepting the forms.

This year forms won't be sold rather you print pdf given on www.npshsr.com and attach 250/- draft aongwith and submit next week at school.
Some people say that seats may not be available so why they are not interested in selling forms.

My son will be 3 yrs 4 mon in the Jun 2011. Is he eligible for Mont 1 in NPS HSR? While distributing they mentioned as age between 2.8 to 3.2. But LKG was starting from 3.10. So for kids between 3.2 to 3.10, will they be considered?

All calls to the school go unanswered. Do all NPS schools give apps at the same time?
Checked with the school (Tried the number that ended in 08). They said they have not decided and asked me to keep checking the website. Hope that helps.
Any news on forms for NPS HSR? I'm unable to reach the school on phone, the website doesn't have any dates.. I hope the Indiranagar forms were specific to that branch as done every year. The Vice principals, of NPS HSR are extremely inefficient and run the school in a very poor manner.
They have been found to harass the students and threaten them unnecessarily.
As such many have left the school in the last two years.
Last week I got to know that parents of shortlisted candidates were called for admission. Will there be a 2nd list for Mont? Was any preference given for Kannadigas of HSR residents other than the siblig category? Any info is appreciated.

It will be really good if some parent can update whether their kid got call for Mont in NPS HSR.. I know parents who received call for LKG in NPS HSR and parents who received call for mont in Koramangala .. but not aware of any mont calls in HSR
Called the school and was told all the shortlisted parents have been intimated.
If I remember correctly, HSR folks were saying that there are only 10-15 seats left for general public in montessori after considering the siblings/. Not sure how many of the 10 to 15 parents to got the call are looking into this mail chain and going to reply.
There are total 10 seats in HSR for mont 1 and that includes all (general , sibling etc etc) . As far as i am aware there is no separate admission process for siblings / alumni etc..

Yes, we got a call this afternoon for our daughter's LKG admission. They have setup an face to face interview the the principal this saturday and admissions will be completed the same day.. ie, payment of fees

i called up today and was told within a week they will let us know in case a child name is shortlisted.
When I called up,they told me we would kno by Jan end.

not sure...think its well educated homemaker!!
NPS application does not have any column for mother's/father's qualification.
They want info about which co. you are working, designation and annual income.
LOL :) And what happens if 'well educated' homemaker takes up job after admissions? Ridiculous isn't it ? :)
Most of the women leave their high paying job once their kid's studies need their attention. I intend to leave job once my son comes in 1'st std. Though I guess Dr. goaplkrishna can't take care of all of these things which happens later but he is also right in prefering as NPS put lots of pressure on studies n its requires substancial efforts from parents, but having said that its not right to think that working mothers don't take care of that lesser. I have seen working mother managing it better than non-working mother and most of time u will find their kids performing well. Since working mother have less time, they give quality times to kid and manage their time better than non-working mother.
Rest is fine,but there is nooo pressure at all just a hype ,they make u do everythng at school,its very relaxed.
there has been an instance where out of 3 children in the same building cmplex, 2 were select to nps, and both their moms were working and the other one's was not.
several other cases were the mom was a housewife.
their (nps) method is not transparent....and thus leaves us in the guessing game.

NPS HSR mentioned that preference will be given to kids of NPS alumini, NRIs returning to India...but no where in the form they ask if the parent is an alumini or if they are NRI and returning to India....I dont know how they will know about it unless to talk to the parents....
NRI status would be known only if u r applying for UKG and onwards as you would fill previuos years results and school information but I have a doubt on alumini kids, How would they know as generally in parents education, ppl will fill only higher education, not sure if ppl fill 10+2 education with school name also.
guess its high profile alumini... cos i have heard of some normal alumini 's kids not getting thru.
They (NPS) stress alot on the qualifications of the parents and how well they are placed currently in society... they co relate this success , to the environment in which the child is brought up, and hence feel that such a child will be able to perform better.... better genes, they say!!!
But haven't we all seen, well off parents with spoiled-rotten children... and children of normal middle class family go-getters who burn the midnight oil and strive to reach heights?

There is no such clear cut criteria tht the school follows. Parents are there from all spheres of life.
The last date of submission is 30th Oct.

I too was in Queue for almost 3 hrs. When I reached the counter, they said they can not take my child since she will be 3.5 by next June. So she is too young for LKG and too old for Mont!! I really dont know what their criteria! So they told me to come next year. Im sure next year also they tell the same reason...too small to 1st std , too old for lkg!!!
Ther cut off age is June 1st to june 30th of 2007! If the baby is born any other date, they are not eligible.
The age problem is difficult to understand, they said kid should be 3 in june - not a month more or less !!! Another ridiculous thing they said was regarding income. They are looking for a combined income of atleast 45 lakhs a year !!!
There is no salary funda this time because government is closely observing the admission process and few top schools are in scanner under equality of education rights. I guess this time School should be careful not to make salary as filteirng crieteria.
Lets not post comments based on some guesses. Like to know who said to you that NPS wants the combined income to be 45L?
I don't think her comment on combined salary is wrong, as I also heard the single earner salary should be atleast 30L. Though school doeasn't say anything like this, so that way his/her comment is wrong.
From yesterday onwards NPS HSR is issuing application forms.It will be issued until tommorow only.
I went at 7am in the morning and before me 20 people were in the queue and at around 9.15 they have opened the gate and behind me there were around 100 people.
Gate will be opened until 11 only and who are all inside can get the form and who are all out of gate can go back without form.
They are asking for Extact 3 yrs for Mont and it seems that only 10 seats available.They are issuing appln. forms for all but they will mention the Age criteria and say that it is your wish to get the form and wont guarntee for selection.
NPS HSR has started issuing the forms but mandating that child should be 3 years for mont. !!!!! not sure why ?? mont age to be from 2.6 is and they say they have only 10 sears....does any one any other details please pass on.
Anybody knows when the admission procedures start for M0 admission in NPS HSR? When I called them today they asked me to call them back on wednesday.
What age the child should be to join M0? As per the info available on net, for montessori, the kid should be between 2.6 to 2.9/3. But when I called up NPS HSR, they said if the age is 2.6 by June, the kid would not be eligible for 2010. She will be eligible only for 2011. I'm surprised!!! 3.6 is too late for montessori.

Yes you are right. 3.6yrs is too late to start the montessori. Ideal age to start the montessori is 2.5 yrs or even early should be the better.
Infact any school following montessori should not impose a strict age. Then it should follow traditional Nursery-LKG-UKG path.
That is totally against the montessori guidelines. The montessori class room will have mixed ages in a group.
Pls check with other schools following Montessori.

you r right, M0 strarts from 2.6, but all branches of nps, have montessori from M1 ie whne the child is btn 2. 10 to 3.6.
If the child is 2.6 in june , you will have to try one of those " house of montessori" pre schools , as they start from M0 , and take children from 2.6 yrs of age
you can finish her montessori and then apply for 1st std in a main stream school
GEAR is one such school where you can start the Montessori when the kid is below 2.5yrs.
As per the admission process you don't have to wait for June of the next academic year. When 2.5 yrs ( it could be in any month of the year ) the child can start M0 and the next academic session the child will start M1.
I this this process make sense to for Montessori as the child has to start the program as early as possible immaterial of the academis session and June.
